Delbert Lynn Harland passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 after battling Alzheimer's disease. Visitation will be held at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Rick Cunningham officiating. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to a remembrance ceremony at 11:15 a.m. at 14th & Main Church of Christ.Delbert was born June 23, 1931 in Knott, TX to Claude and LuAnnie Harland. He married Dorothy Wilemon on July 5, 1951 in Big Spring, TX.Delbert lived in Howard County for more than 68 years and Georgetown for 11 years. He grew up in Knott, TX and graduated from Knott High School. He moved to Big Spring to begin his own construction and roofing company, Harland Construction, in 1958 where he built custom residential homes. He later began H & H General Supply with his son Danny and they continued the construction businesses until Delbert retired in 1997. He moved to Georgetown, TX in 1998.Delbert was an active and faithful member of the Church of Christ. He also enjoyed golfing, spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Georgetown; his son Danny Harland of Big Spring, his daughter Brenda and her husband Everett Bedell of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Rachel and her husband Trey Weaver of Lubbock, Brandy and her husband Bryan Ziegler, Amber and her husband Ryan Roberson, and Aaron and his wife Misty Harland of Big Spring; four great grandchildren, Sophie and Maya Ziegler of Tyler; Lynnzie Weaver of Lubbock, M'Kynlee Harland of Big Spring; and a sister Nelda Jo Fuller of Lubbock.Delbert was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Lu Annie Harland, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.The family suggests memorials be made to Medina Children's Home, 21300 State Highway 16 N, Medina, TX 78055 or HYPERLINK "https://www.medinachildrenshome.com/donate-memorial".Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
