Debra Barton, 64, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.  Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2025 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland.  Memorial mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Debra was born on November 9, 1960, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to Pauline and Isidoro Menchaca. Debra was raised in Carrizo Springs and graduated from Carrizo Springs High School and from Sul Ross State University. A longtime educator, Debra taught elementary school for many years in Carrizo Springs, Coahoma, and Odessa, Texas, before working in the private sector. But most of all, Debra was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Debra is survived by her husband Don Barton of Odessa, her son Austin Barton of Houston, and her son Eric Barton of Chicago, as well as by her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Debra is preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Yolanda Menchaca.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards their beloved and supportive friends, family, and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
