David Ray Trent went to see our Lord on August 3, 2016. David made his home in Midland, Texas for the past 35 years.Mr. Trent is survived by his wife, Wanda Tolleson of 53 years and three children: Devin Trent, Devra Wooten married to Roy, and DeEtte Brunson married to Brandon; one sister, Diane Black married to Walter, seven grandkids; Danielle Trent, Derrek Trent married to Luz, Blake Wooten, Brooke Byrum married to Mitchell, Brett Brunson, Bryan Brunson, and Blaine Brunson. He also had two great children, Genesis and Ford Trent. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, DuWayne TrentDavid was born in Paris, Texas in 1944 to Lee Ray and Iva Lou and grew up in Lubbock, Texas. David lived his life as a man of faith, spreading unconditional love and kindness to everyone he met. Anyone who knew him knew that his love was authentic and unwavering. He taught those around him how to be gentle, calm, and accepting. There was never a question whether or not you could count on him as a friend and confidant.Mr. Trent was a man who knew what he liked. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. His favorite days were spent on the lake with family, sitting on the boat or dock anticipating that big catch. His calm demeanor and patient manner came in handy when waiting for the fish on the end of the line. David also loved cars. His blood ran blue, as you could always see him in a Ford pickup. The family rescue truck hauled and helped everyone out when they got into a bind. The deepest testament of David’s faithfulness in the Lord shined through in his love and devotion to his wife, Wanda. Theirs is a bond that spanned five generations, serving as an example for all to see and aspire to.His strongest character traits were love, reliability, and kindheartedness. David will most assuredly be missed, but we all celebrate in the knowledge that he is with Jesus, having already accepted the invitation to be a fisher of men.Services will be at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 1:00 pm.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to My Community Federal Credit Union FBO Wanda Trent, 4001 N.
