David Lynn Stock

David Lynn Stock, 53 of Midland, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. Memorial Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 4^th at Grace Lutheran Church, Midland, Texas officiated by Pastor Mike Ramey.  Interment will follow at American Heritage Cemetery, 4100 FM1788 Midland, Texas 79707 officiated by Pastor David Henry.

David was born on October 28, 1971 in Odessa, Texas to Robert Lynn and Emma Ruth Gault Stock . David loved photography, tools, and his rescue cats. David graduated from Odessa High and attended Odessa College.  He really enjoyed both his photography and shop classes but avoided English like a plague.  During high school he was an equipment manager for the Odessa Bronchos and really enjoyed riding the team buses to out-of-town football games.  David was passionate about his photography and his photography entry was accepted as a finalist by “Best of College Photography” in their fall 1992 edition. After college David was the photographer and publisher of a publication called “Apartment Showcase.” Later David worked installing satellite TV and owned his own pool maintenance business. When his health declined because of his renal disease, and he had to close his business he still loved to spend long hours in his garage workshop. David enjoyed social events with his family especially if grilling food with his brother, Alton, was involved. His niece AshLynn was the joy of his life, and they enjoyed watching movies together. Even though he was handicapped, and, in a wheelchair, he loved visiting his Uncle Buddy and Aunt Mary Wood (by marriage) for long conversations over coffee and Mary’s spaghetti.

David is survived by Emma Ruth Gault Stock, mother, Midland, Texas, Alton Henry and Rhonda Stock, brother and sister-in-law of Odessa, Texas, AshLynn Stock, niece and boyfriend Will Baker of Odessa, Texas, Ronnie Lou Gault Davis and Gary (aunt and uncle) of Midland, Texas. David is also survived by best friend since high school Buddy Pearce and his beloved fur children Shadow, Lady Bug, and Panda Bear.

David is preceded in death by his father Robert Lynn Stock, Aunt Tee Gault Wood, Aunt Virginia Stock Castleman, and grandparents Henry Stock Jr, Lydia Straach Stock, Alton Alexander Gault, and Sarah Ruth Perry Gault.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Hospice of Midland as well as Midland Memorial and Ashton Medical Lodge for his care.
