David Lee England, 77, of Midland, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 in a local nursing home. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, July 23, 2010, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Midland with Rev. David Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. David was born on July 18, 1933, in Okemah, Oklahoma and married Shirley England on May 21, 1951 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He began his career with Kerr McGee in Odessa, Texas. He spent 15 years in Southeast Asia with Esso Production Malaysia Inc. retiring in Sept 1990 moving to Midland, where he was a member of First Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Shirley of Midland; two daughters, Pam Turner and husband Bud of Longview and Brenda Kirk and husband Jackie of Odessa; two sons, David Michael England of Midland, and Terry England and wife Beverly of Katy; one brother, Homer S. England and wife Marita of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lois England; two sisters, Ruby Dryden and Marie Burleson; and a brother Willis England.The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 2104 W. Louisiana Ave, Midland, TX 79701, Gideons International, 602 N.
