David Beckett, 69, died May 9, 2014 in Midland, Texas.David was born to Arnold and Marie Beckett on August 18, 1944 in Amherst, Texas. He attended Sudan schools and then served in the US Army from 1965-1967. He married Katie Foster in Muleshoe, Texas in 1973. They moved to Midland in 1977 where he worked as an equipment operator for Machen Contractors and then for R&R Construction until retiring in 2013.David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Beckett.Survivors include his wife Katie of Midland; two daughters, Amie Casbeer and husband Kelly of Midland, Jennifer Thomas and husband T.J. of Tahoka, Texas; five grandchildren, Katelyn and Issac Casbeer and Braylee, Brasyn, and Brantz Thomas; four sisters, Maxine Donaldson and Alma Burton of Muleshoe, Texas, Marley Hall and Mary Powell of Sudan, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, many cousins, and one aunt.The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the funeral home.
