Trisha, our sincere condolences for Shorty's passing. Shorty and I grew up together in Vincent and I remember being at Leslie and Maurene's home many, many times playing with Grady, Nelda and him. Our parents were very good friends and did many fun things together, therefore we kids were together quite alot. Of course, he farmed Mother's place for quite a few years, as he did just about every farm in and around the Vincent area. Mother (Mirl Springfield) sends her sincere condolences, as well. My favorite memories of Shorty are the stock shows when Robbie hauled the 4H and FFA steers to Houston every year in his 18 wheeler. Kelli was about 3 and loved to follow Shorty around. The first year we hauled the show steers Kelli ask him why do the have camels here.....They were looking at Brahma Bulls. Every time I would see Shorty he would laugh and say how he loved that. Fun Times.
