Davey Dean "Deanie" Lawson, 80, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at home. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Gathering from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland. Deanie was born January 12, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. She married Robert Lawson on April 21, 1951. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1999. She grew up in Sonora, Garden City and San Angelo. She moved to Midland in 1946. She worked for the telephone company and for various oil companies. Deanie worked for Exxon for 30 years until her retirement. She played on an all-women baseball team for the City of Midland. She was an avid bowler and loved horse races, bingo, tennis, and playing poker. She was a rancher, owning and working 2 family ranches.Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and Terry Griffith of Midland; son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Barbara Lawson of Georgetown; granddaughter, Michelle and Dan Gillis; granddaughter, Regan Lawson; grandson, Gar Lawson; grandson, Gabe and Tiffany Lawson; grandson, Mike and Jennifer Drummond; granddaughter, Stephanie Griffith; and five great grandchildren, Ryan and Wesley Gillis, Kirstyn Lawson, Madigan and Macie Drummond. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Stella Ezell, brother, Kelso Locklin and grandson, York Morgan.
