Darrell L. Deel, 77, of Big Spring, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025. He will lie in state Monday, January 6, 2025 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel.

Darrell was born October 10, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas to parents Fern (Calvert) Deel and Lindsey Deel. He was a mechanic at the Ford House for over 50 years. He was a Senior Master Mechanic and a Diesel Mechanic.

Darrell is survived by his children Teresa Rangel and Pamela Karwedsky along with 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Deel; his parents Lindsey and Fern (Calvert) Deel and his sons James Deel, Robert Lin Deel and Bobby Deel.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Anthony Fuentes, James Wrye, Ryan Deel, Shane Deel, John Deleon and Wesley Payne.

Had many conversations with him about a little bit of everything over the years, I enjoyed every one of them!! Such a hard worker and brilliant auto/diesel technician!! Darrell was a most kind and considerate person and his presence will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful man full of Love and a amazing sense of humor..I will miss him so much..Great Memories I will cherish. He will now be with my sister Wanda in Eternal Peace. God Bless you Darrell . Though I only knew Darrell for two years I feel I've know him a life time. Darrell was so kind with his willingness to help others. His smile will never leave my memories of him. His 50 years at the Ford house lot will never be the same without him here. I know we have and will continue to miss him greatly. Darrell I am saddened your gone but, then again so happy you are at peace finally with your loved ones who passed long before you. Until we meet again my friend. See you later.

My favorite, You were so much more than our sr master mechanic. You were an anchor, a friend, an example, and an encouragement. Your smile was my favorite part of every day. While I’m happy for you that you are not in pain, and are reunited with your beautiful wife, I’m sad for everyone that ever got the privilege to know you. The world is sadder, our shop will never be the same, and my heart drops every time I walk by your box and you aren’t there. I miss you.
