It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Livingston Jones, who passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by family and friends after a brief time in hospice care.
Born in Sweetwater, Texas, Darlene was the youngest of six children. Her family moved to Midland when she was four where she would go on to live most of her life. A steadfast supporter of the 4-H and FFA programs, Darlene became a well-known figure in the Midland County farming community, touching the lives of many with her kindness and dedication.
Darlene was known for her sharp wit and infectious sense of humor. Those closest to her fondly remember her unique inability to sit in the back seat of a car, a quirky trait that never failed to bring a smile.
She is survived by her four children, two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Darlene was predeceased by her beloved husband of almost 70 years, R. D. Jones Jr., as well as her parents, siblings, and grandson.
The family will receive guests at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Darlene will be remembered for her love of family, her contributions to her community, and her lasting impact on those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
