Darlene Jean Hildebrand, 60, of Big Spring, died on Friday, August 10, 2012, in a Midland hospital. Private family services will be held at a later date.She was born on March 16, 1952, in New Eagle, Pennsylvania and married Tommy G. Hildebrand, Sr. on March 26, 1970 in Lamesa, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2011.Darlene was a longtime resident of Big Spring and worked as a RN for 23 years at the Big Spring State Hospital, retiring in 2009. Survivors include two sons, Tommy G. Hilbebrand, Jr. and Ned Randal Hildebrand both of Big Spring; two daughters, Barbara Ann Averette of Big Spring and Pamela Jean Hildebrand of Lavon; one sister, Debra Cialone of Big Spring; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Lance Hludzik.The family suggests memorials be made to Christian Broadcasting Network, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23463 or to Doctors Without Borders USA, P. I knew Darlene from working at the state with her and my late husband. She had a great sense of humor and was a good nurse. I was so sorry to hear of your loss.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. Pam , we are thinking of you at this time. Someone shared this poem with us when my grandpa passed, In His Garden God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering.He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road getting rough and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered,"Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone. Part of us went with you the day God took you home. If tears could build a stairway and heartaches make a lane, We'd walk a path to heaven to be with you again.

I am so sorry to hear of Darlene's passing. I used to work with her at the State Hospital. She was an awesome nurse and a sweet lady. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. She was a very fun lady to work with at the Big Spring State Hospital. We spent many an evening there together in the Supervisors Office. She was a such a great woman and loved her family dearly. Prayers are with you and your family during this time.

I hadn't talked to your mom in several months, I knew she had been sick, but had no idea she was this bad. She was a great person, friend and mom. I went through nursing school with her and I know how hard she studied to be a nurse so she could provide for you kids. My love and prayers to all of you.
