Darlene Bonita Boyd, 71, of Midland went to her heavenly home on February 8, 2015. The family will be accepting guests from 7:00pm-9:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Friday, February 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Abundant Life Church at 11:00am with Pastor Ken Redmon officiating. Interment will be at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Texas.Darlene was born on September 27, 1943 in Los Angeles California to Harry Price and Mary Elizabeth Harmon Montieth Boyd. She was a true Boyd, spirited woman as seen by her many hardships and ability to overcome many obstacles. Her greatest obstacle was the death of her daughter, Karli. After her daughters passing, Darlene opened her life to Jesus. Her main goal in life was to save the souls of those around her, especially her families. She wanted her children and grandchildren to know, believe, and witness Jesus Christ as their Savior and to have no doubt where they were going after this life. Darlene was a true believer and advocate for those unable to help themselves. There was never any doubt as to whether or not she was pro-life. She was an incredible prayer warrior and prayed for God’s covering over her family and friends. Darlene enjoyed visiting numerous churches, but she was faithful and active in multiple ministries. Her life and passion was God and leading others to Him. Abundant Life Church was her safe haven and her home away from home. Darlene had a smile that could light up an entire room. She was nosey, all ears, and opinionated, but she always had the best intentions rooted by love. Family was always a priority and she loved showering her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with packages and gifts. A lot of her time was spent gardening, bird watching, and traveling. Although she was never able to travel to earthly Jerusalem, her family finds comfort in knowing that she finally made it there. Darlene has found her way home and is with our Lord watching over everyone she loved. She is survived by her brother, Laurence Wayne Boyd; children, Dondi (Doris) Poston, Randy (Pam) Poston, Tami (Michael) Jimenez, Dani (Alicia) Nettles, and Archie (Pauline) Fortenberry; grandchildren, Dondi (Lauren) Poston, Jr., Lauren Poston, Joshua Poston, Randy (Danielle) Poston, Jr., William (Kelly) Poston, Anthony Cortez, Sarah Cortez, Maegan Jimenez, Abigail Jimenez, Brittany Lindsey, Kyle Nettles, Tylor Nettles, Donta Fortenberry, and Elisha Fortenberry; niece, Tausha Nichols; great nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Christen, and Christopher; great-great niece, Aubrey; great-grandchildren, Colt, Hayden, Presley, Gentry, Kasyn, Kalyn, Xiaden, Kamden, Rhyselle, and Echo; and numerous friends.Darlene is preceded in death by her father, Harry P.
