My condolences go out to the Downs family thru this trying time. I knew the Downs family from kindergarden in St. Marys Catholic school way back then and the Downs family was always active in all the activities and functions. Rest in Peace
Ronald Prichard left a message on November 30, -0001:
The Downs family was one of the greatest families of St. Marys Church and School. In thinking of Mr. Downs, I remember Spring Festivals and Sunday Masses. I recall Darby's "Official Duty" for the Spring Festival was to get the Beer Booth ready. Of course, there was always a lot of help there to assist (Gossett, Turner, Wilson, Clark, Mueller and on and on...). I also remember other families such as Pollards, Gordons, Coles, Fridays, McKnights, Donnellys, Emersons, Mooneys, and many, many more. Your family made a great contribution to developing not only St. Marys Church and School, but the City of Odessa and the characters of many of us kids to carry on your beliefs, morals and contributions to a better society. We pray for all of you in this time of grief for the loss of a great man, your husband and your father. He will always be remembered in high regard by the Prichard family, and it will bring smiles to us when remembering his life and the great people that made up that special group at St. Marys.
