Daphne Haynes, 81, of Andrews, passed away on September 3, 2009 at Parks Methodist Retirement Village in Odessa. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with Rev. Brian Johnson, officiating.Daphne was born on April 13, 1928 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Ann Bursh and Claude Bryant. She married George Haynes on October 11, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She lived in Ogallala, Nebraska for thirty years, and moved to Andrews three years ago. She was a member of the Christian Science Church, and also a member of the Eastern Star. Daphne never met a stranger. She loved people, loved gardening, loved flowers, especially loved roses, and loved to travel. She and her husband ranched for almost fifteen years in Comstock, Nebraska before moving to Ogallala. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for the Ogallala public school system for almost twenty years. Daphne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. One of her biggest enjoyments in life was being able to spend time with her great grandchildren. Survivors include, her husband, George Haynes of Andrews; two granddaughters Brandy Fuller of Midland; Alicia Coggins and Husband Cliff of Odessa; two great granddaughters Courtney and Sadie Coggins both of Odessa; and two great grandsons James Coggins of Odessa; and Sean Segelke of Odessa. She was preceded in death by her daughter Claudia Matthews, and parents Claude Bryant, and mother Ann BurshArrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
