Danny Ireton, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in Stanton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7 at 2 p.m. at the Stanton High School Auditorium under the care of Gilbreath Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6 at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
He was born on March 21, 1960 in Big Spring to Margie and Jack Ireton and married the love of his life Ronda Shankle on July 3, 1982. They recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. Danny was a lifelong resident of Stanton and graduated from Stanton High School in 1978. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Stanton and a devout man of God. They loved opening their home to friends, family and all their other sons.
He was a proud member of the Stanton Volunteer Fire Department since 1991 and loved his time as a firefighter. As a founding member of the First Down Club, he was one of the biggest Stanton Buffalo supporters and made sure that he was heard wherever he sat. He worked at White Motor Company starting in 1981 as a shop foreman and moved up to dealer in 1995 and made sure countless cheerleaders and groups had vehicles for Old Settler’s Reunion. He served many years on the Stanton School Board and strived to make his community better. His greatest joys in life were traveling with his wife, being a dad to his boys and being Goat to his grandkids. He might have also enjoyed pestering the town and being an Old Sorehead.
Survived by his wife, Ronda of Stanton; three sons, Brandon and wife, Jordan, of Stanton, Matthew and wife, Mellanie of Levelland and Jonathan and wife, Christina of Aledo. Seven grandchildren Hailyn, Jack, Hudson, Hunter, Graham, Eleanor, and Henry; one brother, Dennis Ireton and wife, Judy, of Stanton; one brother-in-law, Phillip Shankle and wife Linda, nieces and nephews Casey and Mike Waggoner, A.J. and Meagan Ireton, J.R. Shankle and Tiffany Shankle; along with great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honorary pallbearers include the Stanton Volunteer Fire Department, Martin County First Responders, White Motor Company employees, JD Ramos, Chris Ramos, Jared Hale, Jesse DeLeon, Jarrett Bradshaw, Alex Shafer, Kirk Canada, Eric Canada, David Billett, Tyler Waggoner, Braden Waggoner, Jack Ireton, J.R. Shankle and Phillip Shankle.

We are so very sorry for your loss. We were not able to be at the visitation or funeral but we wanted you to know you are in our hearts and prayers. We will miss Danny.

Stanton lost a good man. He is what I call a hero. I saw him leave his business many times to answer the call of help and not think about. He lived his faith too. I will miss him.

Dennis, Ronda, and all the family; my heart breaks for you all. May each day be just a tiny bit easier for you. The pain will always be there, but I promise you will be able to breathe again. I sure hope it helps to know how many people love you. Judy (Prude) Costlow

Danny has always been my friend. Sometimes when it was hard to be my friend. He supported Stazie as Band director and believed in her and her mission. I have always cared for and respected him for that. He is a true servant of his community and God. Our families have always been close. Him, Rhonda and Johnathon shared their trailer at Lubbock with Michael when he was going to school there which helped us out tremendously. I loved his sense of humor and his down to earthiness. He will truly be missed by our community. Peace be with you and your family at his time.

Words cannot express how devastated we are at Danny's loss. He was a true friend and a wonderful business associate. Our thoughts and prayers go to Ronda and the boys and their families at this sad, sad time.

Ireton Family, My condolences to you all. I lost a good friend Wednesday and I know how I feel and it can not compare to your loss. I know just being around Danny that he is in Heaven now missing you all. Ronda I want you to know if you need anything at all please let me know.

Stanton, and the whole world has lost a high quality person. I live in Midland, but he solved a lot of problems for me, but what I want to say here is: he was a terrific human being, working in his community to help others, and listening and helping his customers - that is rare in today's world. I am so sorry for his family, the residents of Stanton and Martin County, and especially his customers for whom he did so much to help when we were having problems. I can't believe this happened, My sympathies also go to his office help and his mechanical crew members - they all followed his lead - making their customers feel like someone cared when they were having problems. So long, Mr. Ireton, YOU will be missed!!!!!!!!

What a testimony! Danny loved God and loved people! He had a servant's heart like His Savior's - Jesus Christ! Serving others to the very moment that his life began in eternity! I can only imagine!!!
