D. W. \Dub\ Day, 83, of Forsan, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Rev. Darren Weaver, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, Big Spring. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Dub was born December 20, 1932 in Big Spring, Texas and married Faye Camp January 17, 1953.He was a carpenter and a lifelong resident of Howard County, and a graduate of Big Spring High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He got to participate in the National Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to see the National Monuments and the WWII Memorial. Dub was a long time member of AMBUCS and he served as District Governor. He loved participating in the Rattle Snake Round Up. He loved to hunt, fish, and travel, but his greatest love was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was on the Forsan City Council, a Crime Stoppers participant, and the Order of the Arrow and Eagle Scout. Dub was also on the Big Spring Police Department from 1960 to 1968. He was a member of the Forsan Baptist Church.
Dub is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye Day of Forsan; one son, Dennis Day and wife, Denise of Sweetwater; two daughters, Cindy Loveless of Forsan and Lisa Richardson and husband, Kary of Brownsville; nine grandchildren, Amanda Blanco and husband, Pete, Chad Richardson and wife, Danielle , Melissa Richardson and husband, Bret, all of San Antonio, Michael Day of Baltimore, Maryland, Mandy Cruz and husband, Tommy of Big Spring, Terri Myshin of Monessen, Pennsylvania, Scott Myshin of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, and Justin Heffner and James Heffner, both of Sweetwater; and five great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Linda Brunton and husband, Pat of Skiatook, Oklahoma; and very special friends The McMurray Family.
