Cynthia Ann Acosta, of Midland passed away on May 4, 2017. Rosary will be held Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Mass will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday May 11, 2017 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. By request of the family, please wear bright colors as this will be a celebration of her life.Cynthia Acosta was born October 29, 1958 in Big Lake, TX to Pedro & Olivia Acosta. Her beautiful smile, outspoken passion for life, and her vibrant personality were loved by many. She absolutely cherished spending time with her grandchildren who were the joy of her heart. She spent many days at their sports events, orchestra & band concerts and award ceremonies, always showing her love and support.Cynthia was part of the Women’s ACTS organization at St Stephen’s Catholic Church. It is there she was blessed with many profound friendships and was able to walk a beautiful journey of adoration, community, theology, and service. Her serving heart has left an unforgettable mark on many and she was an example of trust in God. In addition to her service at church, Cynthia took an active role in support groups after her diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer that went undetected in mammograms. She became passionate about awareness and participated and helped coordinate many community events, always trying to shine light on those with stage IV cancer.She believed in hard work, and made a long career with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission in which she became a prime example of dedication. She went on to work, after retirement from the State, in the oil and gas industry and she put her best foot forward and worked with enthusiasm.Cynthia loved all of her family fiercely, made long lasting friendships, worked hard, lived life to its fullest, advocated and served others relentlessly. She has truly left a legacy of love.She is survived by daughter & son-in-law Nicole & Jose Primera; grandchildren, Seth, Mikaela, and Natalee Primera; sister & brother-in-law ,Loriza & Mario Hernandez; brother & sister-in-law, Peter & Bertha Acosta, & brother Anton Acosta; also many nieces\\nephews & their children for whom she cared for very much, Lendall, Josh, Teagan (sisters Aubreigh & Brynleigh), Greg(Michelle), Lori(Wes), AJ, Stephanie(Sean), Caleb, Leanna(Fernando), Avalee, Michelle(Miguel), Dianna, Selena, Anthony, Gabby(Ricky), Faith, Vageta, Anikan, Peter John, Nathaniel; and many loving cousins & godchildren.Honorary pallbearers will be Michelle Small, JR Cortez, Melba Sanchez, Mary Ann Galindo, Mike Anzley, Alfonzo Valadez, St Stephens’s Women’s ACTS Team, Dynamic Disciples, RCHS Class of 1977Thank you to St Stephen’s, close friends & family & the support groups that helped us during this time.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
