Curtis McGriff, 67, of Midland, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017. A Celebration of Mr. McGriff’s Home Going will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 am at True-Lite Christian Fellowship in Midland with Pastor Roy Smith, officiating.Curtis was born August 17, 1949 to Estella (Loving) and June Lockhart in Big Spring, TX.This was Curtis’s way . . . . So as you won’t think that you’re celebrating the wrong man’s Home going. Let me make a final stand. I played long, strong and sometimes wrong, but I stayed true to me; only way it could be! I played it to the end by my rules, not something I learned in school. I was too cool, but at times I had acted like a fool! But hey, again in the end, I did it my way; after all; we’re not here to stay. Please before that final curtain, make sure you call Him by name, say to Jesus your Savior, please forgive my past behavior. God speed! I’m outta here!He is survived by sisters, Sharon Billeh (Waleed), and Shirley Swearengin (Lueroy Sr.) ; brothers, Willie McGriff and Roger S. Williams, Jr. (Carolyn); nieces, Felisha Kelly, Shenitha Swearengin (Rocky) and Aaliyah Fox; nephews, Lueroy Swearengin, Jr. (Stacey) and Robbie Fox Jr., aunt Vernie Franklin and Jessie Morris and a host of family and friends. God’s Grace to all.Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Estella Loving and June Lockhart. The family would like to express their gratitude towards Nancy Torres Martinez, Midland EMT Staff and Midland Memorial Hospital Staff for being so diligent in taking care of Curtis during his time with each of them.“Imagine This”Imagine this there is no pain, nothing to gain. Imagine there’s no more worries. You don’t have to hurry. Imagine there is no more shedding tears for he made it clear the righteous shall be in the presence of Christ who has made the sacrifice.Imagine that for, it’s true.\tFrom His SistersArrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
