Curtis Brunson, 53, of Lubbock, Texas, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at his residence. A come and go memorial will be held from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Brunson home at 3606 Hamilton in Big Spring. Curtis was born on August 8, 1958, in Big Spring, and graduated from Big Spring High School. He attended Howard College School of Nursing and later earned his Registered Nurse's degree. He was working as a trauma nurse in Lubbock.He was a child of the Almighty Heavenly Father.Survivors include his wife of 18 and half years, Karen Faye Brunson, of Lubbock, Texas; step son, Mark Thornton, of Lindale; step daughter, Sonya Nichols, of Abilene; parents, Belton and Nona Brunson, of Big Spring; two brothers, Daryl Brunson and Karl Brunson; two sisters, Karen Hays and Carol Curry; six grandchildren, Ashley Wheeler, Cassie Wheeler, Ethan Thornton, Kenny Thornton, Levi Thornton, Ransom Nichols, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Denise; one infant nephew, Donald Hays; and one niece, Jennifer Hays.
