Cora Berry, 80, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, April 25, 2009, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Father Ariel Lagunilla, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Parrish, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born on December 14, 1928, in Middle Frisco, New Mexico and married Edward Berry on February 14, 1955 in Catron County, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1995. Cora came to Big Spring in 1970 from Alamogordo, New Mexico and was a hairstylist for many years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathlolic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Berry Richardson and husband, Don Williams and Dawn Pappajohn and husband, David and two sons, Melvin Berry and Billy Berry all of Big Spring; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; four sisters, Julia McNutt of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Lilly Sandoval, Lesa Tressler and Clorinda Rael and one brother, Melco Naranjo all of Silver City, New Mexico.
