Consuelo "Connie" Romack, of Midland, passed away Friday September 14 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Private family services will be held at a later date.Connie was born January 8, 1940 in Montelibano, Colombia to Estebana Cura and Jose Vicente Palacio. She was married to L.D. Romack, a local oilman, from 1969 until his death in 1994. She has been a resident of Midland since 1973 where she was a well known and respected alterationist/clothing designer. Although she operated multiple businesses in Midland her full time job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy and she will be missed dearly.She is survived by her children, Antonio Santis of Plano, Lawrence Romack, Les Romack and Sandra Venerable of Midland, her grandchildren Justin Venerable of Midland and Travis Venerable who is currently serving as a marine in Okinawa Japan. She is also survived by 4 brothers and 4 sisters in both Midland and in ColombiaThe family has requested that donations be made to Midland Hospice in her name in lieu of flowers.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Connie was a dear friend for many years. She was like "family" to me and I will miss her for evermore. She (and her kids) will always have a special place in my heart. To her children I will say that you had an exceptional Mom that loved and cared for you more than words can say. Every night you should go outside and look for your Mom as she is the brightest star in the sky blessing you, taking care of you, and keeping a motherly eye on you. Momma Romack was a mom to do many of us kids growing up. She always had something for us kids to snack on or eat. Always looking out for us. She always called us her kids and I still remember the last time I saw her she recognized me right away and told me to quit growing and to bend down and give momma a kiss. A true angel called home.
