Cody Wayne Phillips, 21, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. He was born on July 6, 1997 in Midland to Bernie & Dena Phillips of Midkiff, Texas.Services will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rankin High School Auditorium, followed by burial at the Rankin Cemetery.Cody was very active at Rankin High School, playing football & participating in 4H. He was very passionate about performing in One Act Plays. Upon his graduation in 2015, his love of hunting, fishing & the outdoors inspired him to continue his education to be a Texas Game Warden. Cody was currently attending Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas.He loved to work on his RatRod with his dad and being at the lake with his mom. He will be forever remembered for his big heart, many hugs, smiles and I love yous. He will be greatly missed.Those he will meet in Heaven include his paternal & maternal great-grand parents, his grandfather Bernie Lee Phillips, as well as other family members.He is survived by his parents Bernie & Dena Phillips; by his sister Shayna and her husband, Taylor White; his grandparents, Geneva Phillips of Big Lake, and Bruce & Sharon Sutton of Sweetwater; aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many, many friends.Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Cody to his alma mater.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
