Clyde “Jerry” Doyle, 75, passed away Tuesday October 27, 2015 in Midland, Texas surrounded by family. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on January 13, 1940 to George and Fannie Doyle. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and Detroit, Texas. He then moved to Midland, Texas and graduated from Midland High School in 1960; and graduated from Midland College with a Fire Science Degree in 1976.Jerry loved fixing things. There was not one thing he could not fix. At the age of 15, he began working alongside his dad in the body shop, working on cars. Jerry has worked for several different body shops during his life. He was drafted into the Army in May 1963. He served his country as an air craft repairman in Vietnam from 1964-1965, fixing bullet holes in Apache Helicopters and Huey Hog. He was honorably discharged and came back to Midland, Texas. He felt the craving for adventure and began a 31 and a half year career with the Midland Fire Department. Jerry worked up the ranks until he achieved the title of Captain; and was known for being one of the hardest captains on the force as he made his crew learn streets and study on their down time. In his retirement he worked for Enterprise Rental Cars and Chaparral Water Systems. He had many passions, he loved spending time at his land in the country with his horse Champs Regents. Jerry was known as the guy with the “fat horse” in the country. Jerry had a little puppy that stole his heart, Max.Jerry married the love of his life Joyce (Joy) Ann Minter on March 11, 1967. He called Joy “Doll,” because he said she was the most precious thing in the world to him. They were married for 48 strong years. Jerry and Joy have two daughters, Donna Joyce and Deborah Ann. He felt it strong that his girls know how to take care of themselves and have a strong work ethic. At young ages, he was teaching his girls to shoot guns, put up fencing, repair houses and cars. His wife and girls were his pride.Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents (George and Fannie), sister Bertha Thurman, brother Frank Doyle, mother in law Rebecca Jane Minter Hignight, father in law J.W. Minter, sister in law Billie Doyle, brother in law Roy Minter, sister in law Jo Ann Minter.He is survived by his “Doll” Joyce Ann “Joy” Doyle, his daughters Donna and Debby Doyle, grandchildren Nicholas and Elijah, brother in law JW Minter (Loretta), Brother Robert Doyle and brother-in-law Bob Thurman and numerous nephews and nieces.The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Crestview Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Crestview Baptist Church, Forward by Faith, 301 N.
