Clinton "Fatty" Jefferson, Jr.The life story of Clinton Jefferson, Jr. began on November 28, 1937, being born to Clinton Jefferson and Octavia Warren Jefferson.Fatty received his formal education in Midland, Texas being a graduate of Carver High School in 1957. Fatty treasured the time spent at CHS, being a football player and discus thrower on the track team, where he was named all conference discus thrower.He was employed for several years at the Midland Country Club as a caddy. He also worked for the First National Bank of Midland for over 20 years. He later went on to start his own business, Jeff's Janitorial. He worked for Gibson's, St. Ann's and Schlumberger, until his health failed in 1992.In 1968, Fatty married the girl of his dreams, Billie Sue Nelson. He was the father of two beautiful children. His son, Barry Dewayne Jefferson, preceded him in death. His parents, his brothers, Clarence Taylor, Earl Taylor and Walter Taylor and his sisters, Joyce Jefferson and Dorothy Smith, also preceded him in death.Fatty's book of life closed on Tuesday, August 14, 2007. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Private inurnment will be at Resthaven North in Midland. Honorary pallbearers will be L.C. Polk, Sr., Jimmy Durham, T.J. Glover, Eddie Riley, Sherman O'Neal, D'morriyon Breaux, Billy McDonald and all of Fatty's nephews.Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Billie, of 39 years; his daughter, Briggett Jefferson of Midland; his sisters, Ella (L.D.) Swell of Richmond, California and Marion Smith of Denver, Colorado; his three beautiful grandchildren, Chavaye Glover of Midland, T.J. Glover of Lubbock and Brenaye Glover of Midland; his best friend, his great grandson, D'morriyon Breaux, (D'MO); two sister-in-laws, Willie B. Johnson and Barbara (L.A.) Pertile; a brother-in-law, Fred (Carolyn) Nelson; a special friend, Joe Winfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
