Cleo S. Bailey, 90, of Forsan, died on Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Odessa Hospice House. Cleo S. Bailey, 90, of Forsan, died on Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Odessa Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. James Pinkley, her nephew and a retired Baptist minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.Mrs. Bailey was born on September 26, 1915, in Motley County, Texas and married E. M. "Rip" Bailey on December 25, 1938 in Whiteflat, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1997.She moved to Big Spring in 1937 and taught school at Centerpoint. After marrying she moved to Forsan where she taught school until retiring in 1978. Mrs. Bailey graduated from West Texas A&M University in 1947. She loved making quilts and made quilts for everyone in her family. She also enjoyed letter writing and family genealogy. She loved her family and husband whom she threatened to "trade for two burros" and he retaliated with, "I love you two cents worth." She was a Methodist. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Murl Bailey and Darlene Collins of Caldwell; her daughter, Kathy Bailey of Odessa; two granddaughters, Wanda LaGrave of Ransom Canyon, and Shannon Jeffcoat of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two grandsons, Creighton M. Bailey of Austin, and Mitchell S. Collins-Bailey of Huntsville; seven great grandchildren, four nieces and four nephews.She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Hiram, Homer, John Thomas "Buck" and Bill Smelser and two sisters, Gladys Williamson and Mary Lee Pinkley.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice House Foundation, Inc., 903 N.
