Clay Smith, 48, of Midland, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018. Family will accept guests from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm Saturday, June 23, 2018, in The Branch at npw at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.Clay was born on October 13, 1969 to Dalton Jay and Courtney Shelley Smith in Houston, Texas. Clay earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Lubbock Christian University in 2007. He was a Right of Way Agent. His hobbies were guns, golf and riding his Harley.He is survived by his wife, Susan Smith; children, Skylar and husband Chase Mahan and their children Makenna and Ryleigh, Tayler Smith and her children Grayson and Oliver, Bailey Smith and son Fynn, and Dalton Smith; father, Jay Smith; brothers, Eric Smith and children Ashley and Leanne, Joel and wife Kim Smith and children Krystal, Stephanie and Sarah; sister, Shelley and husband Eddy Hollums and children Jenny, Emily, Justin and Cody; and sister-in-law, Jeanna Smith. He is preceded in death by his mother, Courtney Smith.Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Strickland, James Huggins, Barry Bledsoe and Chris Caudill.In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be donated to the Hospice of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
