Claudie Joe Horn was born in Stanton, Texas to Guy Everett and Fannie Pauline (Bryant) Horn on February 1, 1943. Claudie passed peacefully in Wolfforth, Texas on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
Claudie’s family moved to Big Spring, Texas in 1945 where he attended school and graduated from Big Spring High School in May, 1960. He entered the Army in 1962 and served in Germany as well as various other locations for three years. Claudie worked for TXDot for 38 years and retired in 2004.
In 1966, Claudie met the love of his life, Patsy Ophelia Hale, and they were married January 20, 1967 and were together until Patsy’s death in December, 2009. Left behind to cherish his memory are his 3 children, Tammie Horn of Big Spring, Lisa (David) Harshbarger of Wolfforth, TX and C. J. (Veronica Darrow) Horn also of Big Spring; one brother, Larry Horn of Temple, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Michael and Marshall Horn, Warren and Emily Harshbarger, Christopher, Cameron, Courtney, Corey, Chelsea and Bubba Horn; one great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Tina (Eddie) Word, Loretta Wilson, and one nephew Ricky (Angela) Brown of Big Spring.
Claudie is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Patsy; siblings Geneva Sugar Brown, Dorothy Mae Hannabass, Everett Junior Horn, and James Paul Horn; and sisters-in-law Diane Farmer and Linda Hale.
Claudie’s favorite pastimes included his love for fishing and hunting alongside his son-in-law, David Harshbarger.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm Saturday, September 24 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Pastor Darren Weaver officiating. Interment with Army Honors will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will host a visitation at Nalley-Pickle Welch Funeral Home Friday, September 23 from 6pm to 9pm. The family will also receive guests at the family home located at 100 Canyon Drive in Big Spring.
