Clarence Kenneth "Ken" Strobel, 80, of Midland passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007 in Midland.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the First Christian Church, 1301 West Louisiana, in Midland with Senior Minister David Nash officiating.Ken was born on July 14, 1926 in Prairie County, Montana to John G. Strobel and Johanna M. Breitling Strobel. He graduated from Billings High School in 1944, and also studied Code and Meterology at the Civilian Air Patrol School in Billings. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 and was deployed in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns during WWII. Following the war, he was employed by Cities Service Oil Company, and moved with the company to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where he met and soon married Mary Jane Wilhelm. They moved to Oklahoma City, and finally Midland, where they have resided for many years. Ken loved riding motorcycles and enjoyed life to its fullest. He was an active member of the First Christian Church of Midland.Ken is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Strobel of Midland; his daughter, Janelle Rawlston of Dallas; brother, Earl Strobel of Billings, Montana; sister, Maybelle Hergenridger of Bridger, Montana; and 3 grandsons, Luke Bela, Jack and Matt Rawlston.Ken was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers, and 1 sister.Memorials may be sent to the Allison Cancer Center, 301 North N Street, Midland, Texas 79701.,
