Clara Everene Lane

Clara Lane, 92, of Stanton, died on Thursday, June 15, 2006, in a Stanton nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton with Van Pendergrass, minister, of Downtown Church of Christ, officiating. She was born on February 16, 1914, in Deming, New Mexico and married William Walter Lane on November 10, 1945 in Deming, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1999. Clara enjoyed sewing, working crossword puzzles, watching movies, playing cards, reading and dancing. She was a Baptist and was a member of the Square Dance Club in New Mexico. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Clara and Teddy Stewart and Billie and Danny Fryar all of Stanton; 7 grandchildren, Ted McDaniel and wife Jackie of Stanton, Branden McDaniel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Leanne Morris of Deming, New Mexico, Bill Evans of Kemper, Cherlyn Stewart, Kenny Stewart and wife Naomi, Leslie Moreno and husband Robert all of Stanton and 14 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Judy McDaniel, 1 grandson, Harley McDaniel, and 1 great granddaughter, Kassie Bounds.
