Clara Coleman King

Clara M. King, age 88 of Midland, Texas passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2022, at her home where she lived with her daughter Cindy Hall for almost 2 years. Clara was married to Chris King for over 50 years until his death in 2005. Her passing happened on their wedding anniversary from 70 years ago.

During her working years she was a bookkeeper and worked for Getty, Gulf and Texaco. She volunteered as the bookkeeper for many years for her family’s church at Greenwood Baptist Church and helped operate the Greenwood Grocery Store and mobile home park until they sold.

Clara and Chris had three children, Jodie Presley and her husband Ricky, Christy Wright and her husband Greg, and Cindy Hall. Her grandchildren were Jennifer Presley, Chris Presley, and Josh Hall. Her only great-grandchild was Everett Presley.

She was always proud to be a part of the King family which was one of the original ranch families in the Greenwood area. They joined with other early ranchers and farmers to begin the original Greenwood Baptist Church.

She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with others as well as herself. She will be missed but her family knows that she is in heaven for eternity.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm Thursday, June 9^th, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 10^th, 2022 at Greenwood Baptist Cemetery.
