Christopher “Chris” Joseph Willis

Christopher “Chris” Joseph Willis a cherished father, brother, and friend passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the age of 64. Born on April 3, 1960, in Bay Shore, New York, Chris was a beacon of love and laughter who brought joy to all who knew him. He departed this world in Midland, leaving a legacy of kindness and faith.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. Reception will follow at The Branch next door.

As a child Chris was rambunctious and adventurous. He carried his adventurous nature into adulthood, and he became a proud carpenter and construction guru. He spent most of his career at Midland Memorial Hospital where he worked for over 35 years. Chris cherished his friends and family and loved to be the host of large gatherings. He loved playing golf and softball and was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. His favorite place was Brooklyn, New York where he held some of his fondest memories. More than anything else Chris loved being a grandfather.

Chris is survived by his son Joseph Willis, grandchildren Mirabella Willis, and Joseph Willis II; siblings Drey Willis, David Willis, Janet Chirico (John), Donna Daniel (David), Susan Carter (Bill), and Sharon Baier (John); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents John and Mildred Willis whom he dearly loved.

Chris was the embodiment of generosity and the epitome of the saying “he would give you the shirt off his back.” He was a larger-than-life character and was always the life of the party. He will be missed by all that knew him.
