Christopher Edward Holmquest, age 74, of Midland, TX, passed away on February 12th, 2024.
Born in Sweetwater, TX on October 29th, 1949, he built fond childhood memories with his beloved grandparents, Claude and Edna Lofland. After graduating high school, he served in the Army from 1969 to 1971, rising through the ranks of Tank Commander and 1st Sergeant of Charlie Company. Driven by a lifelong affinity for pranks, he received an Article 15 demerit for painting Snoopy on the jeep doors of his commanding officer’s vehicle, along with the phrase, “I can’t stand it!” After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in accounting from U.T.P.B., he worked as a Natural Gas Contract Consultant for over 40 years. He spent most of his tenure with Wagner & Brown and E.G.L. Resources, forming lifelong friendships with his coworkers.
He lived a rich life as an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless weekends at his deer lease in San Angelo. Some of his most cherished memories include sharing these passions with his daughters.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Sutton, and he left behind daughters Abbey Evans and Kristia Holmquest, brothers Robert and Stephen Holmquest, and grandsons Cooper and Cash Evans.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
