Christine M. Church, 89, of Stanton, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 in Odessa. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.Christine was born on October 21, 1928 to Ethel Nora and Fred E. Alexander in O'Donnell, Texas. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1947. She married her beloved Douglas Texas Church on July 20, 1947. Christine was a homemaker, serving her family and her church as wife of a pastor and farmer, mother of three and nursemaid to many family members. She and Doug ministered to many youth at Camp Ziyoca youth camps and hosted exchange students, Alberto Rueda and Thea Verhoef in their home. Christine, known as Mama Chris, famous for her signature Brownies made with her home grown pecans, loved family, cooking and music.She is survived by sons, Stephen Douglas Church and Scott David Church and wife, Stazie of Stanton; daughter, Stacy Michelle (Shelly) Baird and husband, Wes of Odessa; grandchildren, Jennifer Greer and husband, Greg, Jeremy Church and wife Kourtney, Michael, Skyler and Kirsten Church, Aubrea Marquez and husband, Joseph and Ashlea Zugg; and great grandchildren, Briley, Jolie, Alex, Bradley, Callie and Layla; along with several nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Church, her parents, Ethel and Fred Alexander, and her brothers, Tommie, Aaron and Curtis Alexander.Many of the family stayed with Christine allowing her to remain in her home as long as possible. We would like to express special thanks to her many caregivers and Courtyard Assisted Living Memory Care, where she resided for the past year. She was especially blessed by a weekly dose of cheer from Jen, Briley & Jolie.Christine touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed.Flowers will be received at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, or memorials may be donated to Stanton Community of Christ Church, or a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
