Pat Ray, pastor of Prairie View Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Chloie passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmie and Rickie Long, Gregg, Brian, John and James Newton.Chloie was born November 24, 1914 to the pioneer family, Mary and Luther Stuteville at The Grove, near Mother Neff Park. She and her family moved to Howard County when she was 6 years old.She worked for Mrs. Brenner in the dry goods store and kept books for Earl Deats prior to marrying E. M. "Pug" Newton on March 1, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1989. Pug and Chloie farmed north of Big Spring in the Fairview community. Together they raised 4 children and their nephew Danny Carrigan of Bacliff, Texas. Chloie later worked in the Howard County Clerk's office and retired after 20+ years of service. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Home Demonstration Club and Women's Missionary Union.Chloie became a Christian and has been a member of the Prairie View Baptist Church since she was 13 years old. She loved her family, church, cooking, and playing cards and dominos. She loved to have visitors and made everyone she met feel special and loved.She is survived by her daughter Shirley Ann Long and husband Donald, her sons Marion Newton and wife Sherry, Lonnie Newton and wife Diana all of Big Spring, and Harrell Newton and wife Darlene of Arlington, Texas, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, her brothers Ross, Pete, Dean and Floyd Stuteville, her sisters Jeary Tubb, Linda Rau, Faye Mouser, Jean Hunter and Joyce Thompson, her card playing friends Theda, Jeary, Betty, Merle and Dorothy, her faithful housekeeper and caregiver Nita Rios, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.She was also preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Jimmie Don, her sister Sallie Hightower, brothers Doug, A.J., and Calvin Stuteville.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to your favorite charity or to her church, which she loved so much: Prairie View Baptist Church, 1004 W.
