Cheryl Lynn Waddell Rockwell, 66 of Midland, TX, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Cheryl was born on October 12, 1958 in Midland, TX to Gene & Edna Waddell. She was married to Mark Rockwell on July 27, 1982, and had one son, Jason Rockwell, on February 27, 1987. She was truly the example of what unconditional love looks like. She was selfless, never thinking about herself, and always putting others first. She was beautiful, funny, loyal, and sweet, it’s hard to describe what an amazing person she has been to numerous people. She loved without limits and loved the Lord so very much. We have a huge hole in our hearts, but we also have comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and is in paradise/Heaven and is whole again, reunited with our Lord and our loved ones.

Cheryl is survived by husband Mark Rockwell, son Jason Rockwell, and grandson, her pride and joy, Christopher Rockwell. Brother Clint Waddell & wife Keri Waddell, Nieces Cristin Coulter, husband Turney Colter, Kendra Lange, husband Taylor, and Sister Carol Waddell Rivas and nieces Jordan Rivas and Reagan Rivas Castaneda. Cousins, and several great nieces and nephews, she loved everyone and made sure you knew you were loved by her.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her Father Gene Waddell, Mother Edna Waddell, and Nephew Clayton Waddell.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Gentiva Hospice, who showed so much care and compassion during this difficult time. She loved every one of the sweet people, nurses, CNAs and Social Workers who came to take care of her and they made her feel as normal as possible, with this impossible disease.

There will be no services held at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Midland Children’s Rehab Center.

Cheryl was so sweet and selfless. I am so very sorry for the family's loss. I know her parents were so happy to see her again and wrap her in their arms. I will cherish my time spent with her and count myself blessed to call her friend. Carol, you are the best sister she could have ever hoped for. My heart felt condolences to you all.

I love you forever granny, I miss you so much I wish I could see you everyday. Thank you for all you’ve done for me I cannot thank you enough you meant the world to me and took the best of care of me and loved me to the fullest. Thank you for being the best granny I could’ve ever asked for I love you so much granny.

Mama it was way too short that we met. I love you mama!!! Get your crown. You surely deserve it! Wish we all had more time…but fell in love with you. No more pain mama😭😭😭. Love you always. My heart hurts for those who have known you longer. I know you did for me in such a short time. Just loving and so kind! Miss you mama. Will see you again in paradise!!
