Cheba Bianchi was born in Midland, Texas and moved to Albany, Texas as a young child. She graduated from Albany High School and continued her education at Texas Christian University, graduating in 1966 with a BS in Home Economics. She pursued a Masters’ in Education at Texas Tech University and graduated in 1970. Living in Connecticut, provided the White Christmases that she dreamed about and where she met Andrew T. Bianchi. They married in 1972, moved back to Midland in 1974 and worked in public education for 30 years. Cheba retired from Midland Independent School District in 2005 and pursued her love of art in many areas of interest: scrapbooking, photography, knitting, needlepoint and flower arranging for all of her friends! She has been an active member of First Christian Church, serving in many capacities including pianist, Concerns Committee, Handbell Choir, diaconate, and in the LOGOS program. Cheba was also a docent for the Scarborough-Linebery Historic Home; Past Matron, Midland Chapter 253, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae; a member of Delta Kappa Gamma; a member of Midland Association of Retired School Personnel; and a member of American Association of University Women.She is survived by her husband, Andrew T. Bianchi; children Andrew Bianchi, Jr. and wife, Sue of Elk Grove, California; grandsons, Alexander Frank, and Dominic Kingslee also of Elk Grove; and daughter, Melissa Bianchi of Ft. Worth, Texas and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.A Memorial Service is planned for October 8, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at First Christian Church with visitation to follow.Cheba has requested memorials to be to the Midland Soup Kitchen, First Christian Church, and Home Hospice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
