Charley Dishman, 63, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit of Midland Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland with Pastor Tom Vermillion, officiating.Charley was born on July 4, 1943 to Ralph and Geneva Dishman in Long Beach, California. He married Laura Logan on August 21, 1992 in Lake Tahoe, NevadaCharley loved studying his bible and developed a close relationship with our Lord. He was a member of Mid-Cities Community Church. Charley graduated from Midland High School where he played basketball and was selected to the All-State 4A team and named the leagues most valuable player. He went on to play at the University of Texas and Hardin Simmons on a full scholarship where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He went to work for Texaco in 1967 and after 32 years of service he retired in 1999 as an Accounting Supervisor. He lived in the Midland community all his life where he loved playing golf at Ranchland Hills Golf Course and winning quarters from his buddies. Charley enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was proud of his immaculate yard-work and keeping the neighborhood well kept.Survivors include his wife, Laura of Midland; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Amy Dishman of Missoula, Montana; a daughter, Melissa Wright of Missoula, Montana; a son, Scott Dishman of Austin; four grandchildren, Hannah and Kennedy Dishman and Nikolas and Catherine Wright; a brother-in-law, Jeff Logan of Long Beach, California; a cousin, Ron Biddy of Houston; and beloved pets Roxey and Rogan.
