Charles Schwope

Charles Schwope, 91 of Midland, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.

Charles was born on December 16th, 1932 in Shattuck, OK to Raymond & Amelia (Overbaugh) Schwope. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1956 and went on to become a Petroleum Engineer with Carter Oil which then became Exxon Mobil which he retired from in 1986.  He married Rosemary Prigmore and they had 5 children, Charlotte (Mike) Glenn, Robert (Faith) Schwope, Cheryl (Fred) Osbin, Richard (Kathy) Schwope and Ron Schwope.  He had 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and even a few great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Robert, and a brother and a sister.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards his family/friends at Brookdale Assisted Living and Encompass hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church where he was a long-time member or the American Cancer Society.
