Charles Ray (Charlie) Herring went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. He was born May 14, 1928 in Ralls, TX to James and Johnnie Herring.Charlie married Chris Barrington, his long time sweetheart on September 29, 1946 in Lubbock, TX. She preceded Charlie in death on February 18, 2010. He was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church. He served on several committees through the years and loved his church family. He was one of the owners of Mid-West Glass Company in Midland. He was an avid golfer and loved nothing more than playing with his group of good friends. He was able to play until he was 82 and regularly shot his age or below.Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Herring; his brother, Tommy Herring and his sister Helen Jean Moyers.He is survived by one brother, Jimmy Herring of Nacogdoches, TX; his daughter, Cheryl Dolph; son, Dwayne Herring and wife Lana; daughter-in-law, Lawana Herring, all of Midland; grandchildren, Monty Dolph and wife Michelle; Ginger Sterling and husband Tim, all of Edmond, OK; Jamie Dolph and wife Jennifer of Norman, OK; Misty Baker and husband David; Brandon Herring and wife Tara; Erin Herring; and Casey Herring and wife Aimee, all of Midland; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, August 3, 2012 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Crestview Baptist Church in Midland.The family suggests memorials be made to Crestview Baptist Church Forward by Faith Building Fund, 301 N Loop 250 West, Midland, TX 79703 or to Buckner Family Place, 425 W.
