Charles Eugene Butler was born December 5, 1933 in Gordon, Texas. Charles graduated from Gordon High School in 1951. That same year he went to work for Western Electric in Fort Worth, Texas. Charles was drafted into the army in 1955 and served 24 months at Presidio, San Francisco. In 1958, Charles went to work for Wes-Tex Telephone Co-op in Stanton, Texas. Charles served as Co-op manager for 20 years, retiring in 1998.
Charles is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Fuquay Butler, and two sons, Les Butler and his wife, Tracey of Fort Worth, and Larry Butler and his wife, Lori, of Stanton. He is survived by his grandchildren, Shantel Pack, Shauna Compton (Danny), Sheila Shepherd (Mike), David Butler (Mandy), Shey Rivas (Jason), Brandi Cisneros, 19 great grandchildren; Two sisters, his twin Imogene Wheeler (Max), of Gordon and Emelie Edwards (Bobby) of Santo, Texas.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Bessie Butler, and twin sisters, one granddaughter, (Laycee), one great granddaughter (Emelie).
