Charles Dennis “Chuck” Elmore of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born on December 22, 1933, in Bell County Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Mable Swope Elmore.
Chuck is survived by his wife Mona of Fredericksburg, TX, son Mitch Elmore (Donna) of Fredericksburg, TX, daughters Nan Pittman (Kevin) of Wolfforth, TX, and Kaki Elemento (Ernie) of Dalton, Georgia, as well as nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Chuck graduated from Abilene High School in 1952, attended Hardin Simmons University for two years, and then joined the Air Force. Chuck married Mona Altizer in 1959 in Cherokee, Texas. Chuck graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1960.
Chuck was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in Stanton and served in many roles in support of the church. After retiring from Cap Rock Electric Cooperative, he worked in several endeavors including county septic inspections, vending and laundry businesses, C & C Grocery, and two cotton gins.
Chuck loved mowing the yard at home and at church. He was also an avid gardener and loved to share his produce with others. He loved to enter his pecans in the county fair. Chuck also loved to go fishing when he got the chance.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, July 6th, 2022 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, TX. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Stanton, TX on Thursday, July 7th, 2022 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Stanton, New Century Hospice (2210 Bandera Highway Suite B2, Kerrville, Texas), or Senior Citizens of Martin County.
