Charles “Chuck” Cawthon, 85, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Big Spring Vietnam Memorial.He was born November 23, 1932 in Brownfield, Texas and married Patsy Owen December 31, 1949 in Childress, Texas.Chuck served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, serving in Korea, Vietnam, Guam and England. After retiring from the Air Force he and Patsy owned and operated Chuck’s Surplus for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting when he was younger, and he enjoyed taking anything that didn’t work and fixing it so it would work. Chuck loved his family, especially his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Patsy of Big Spring; two daughters, Linda Charmian and husband, Nolan of Big Spring, and Vanessa L. Falkoff and husband, Irv of Las Vegas, Nevada; three grandchildren, Christopher Bonger, Ryan Beall and Austin Kight; and five great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Lavada Cawthon; one daughter, Cheryl Kight; two brothers, Billy D. Cawthon andJerry W. Cawthon; and two sisters, Wanda Mitchell and Robbie Larson.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
