Cantu, Celia Franco 76, of The Colony, formerly of Big Spring, died on Saturday, July 15, 2000, in a Carrollton hospital. Prayer service will be 7:30 PM Monday, July 17, 2000, at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Pastor Reynaldo Bennett of Templo La Biblia Abierta, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born on April 29, 1924 in Big Spring, Texas and married Ferman Cantu on June 18, 1980 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1993. Mrs. Cantu was a longime resident of Big Spring and had also lived in Midland and Odessa for a short period of time. She moved to The Colony two years ago. She worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Peacock and had also worked several years in food service for area hospitals. She attended Templo La Biblia Abierta. Survivors include six sons, Sammy Jaso and Roy Lopez both of Dallas, Jimmy Franco and Pete Franco both of Midland, Tony Franco of Ft. Worth and Oscar Franco of Loraine, Ohio; three daughters, Gloria Castellon of Roswell, New Mexico, Delia Romero fo Midland and Rosie Presas of Dallas; one sister, Telia Munoz of Midland; 31 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
