Cecil Suttles, 95, of Mesquite, formerly of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 2:30 PM at the Waterford Retirement House in Mesquite, Texas. A private interment will be at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on November 11, 1911, in Moscow, Mississippi and married Willie Newson on May 7, 1932 and she preceded him in death on October 11, 1983. He then married Estelle "Tommie" Eason on March 14, 1987 in Big Spring, Texas.Mr. Suttles had lived in Big Spring since 1945. He worked as a lease foreman for Sun Ray DX Oil Company before Sun bought them out and retired in 1976. He was a fifty year member of the Big Spring Staked Plains Lodge #598, A.F. & A.M. and had served as a deacon at College Baptist Church and at First Baptist Church. Cecil loved his Lord and Savior, playing golf, fishing and any kind of dominoes. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Big Spring.Survivors include his wife, Estelle "Tommie" Suttles of Mesquite; one loving son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Barbara Suttles of Arkansas; four loving stepdaughters and their spouses, Patsy and Kim Pedersen of Mesquite, Barbara and Ricky Stone of Big Spring, Doris and Lonnie Stephens of Katy, and Carolyn and Melton DuPreist of Tyler; one loving stepson, H.L. Eason of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Pam Suttles of Oklahoma, Tanya Suttles of Austin, and Doug Suttles of Alaska; eleven step grandchildren, and sixteen step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Bennett and Marguerite Brown. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
