Cathryn F. Lewis, 89, of Midland, died on Sunday, September 28, 2008, in a local hospital. Visitation will be held on Monday September 29, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Waco Memorial Park 6623 S. IH 35 Robinson, Texas with Rev.Barry Feriend officiating.Cathryn was born on March 24, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas to Carl Dean Ferguson and Jesse Mae Jacobs; she married John E Lewis on June 2, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas.She graduated from High School at the age of 16 and went on to Baylor University and became a teacher, with over 27 years as a teacher. Cathryn was a member of First Baptist Church.Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Joanna & Ralph Gassiott of Midland, Texas; daughter, Elaine Holliman of Rockdale, Texas; son & daughter-in-law, John E. & Sunya Lewis, of Spring, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildrenHer husband of 65 years John E. Lewis and her parents preceded Cathryn in death. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
