Carol Ann Travis Crain, 77, of Midland, Texas, passed away January 1, 2017. Visitation will take place at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church.Carol was born June 23, 1939 to Nell King Travis and Joe Johnson Travis. Carol moved to Midland in 1948 from Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a 1957 graduate of Midland High School and was a Fine Arts Major at the University of Arizona, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She made her debut with The Minuet Club of Midland in 1958.She married M. G. Pete Crain in 1961. She served on the Junior League and Midland-Odessa Symphony boards, and she was a past president of the Recording Library for the Blind. She served on the Board of Trustees for the Ginger Rogers Estate. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.She is survived by her husband, Pete; her daughter, Mrs. Julie Crain Miller and husband, John Crow Miller, of Dallas; and her three grandchildren, Wilson, Kaki, and Mary Crow Miller.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
