Carlene Elizabeth Barron 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Sunday, September 15, 2013, in Seabrook, Texas. She was born in Big Spring, Texas, March 1, 1940 and was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Alma Coleman.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Barron; son, Keith Barron; daughter, Sheryl Swinney and husband, Troy; two very special granddaughters, Ashlee Lucus and Leslee Hindman and husband, Matt; great grandchildren, Grayden and Baye Biddix; brother, Jake Coleman and wife, Polly; and friends too numerous to count.Carlene graduated from Big Spring High School in 1958, Angelo State University in 1972, and earned a Masters in Education from Sul Ross University in 1978. She retired from teaching in 2004, but continued to host the annual teachers Christmas party. She always had a welcoming smile, zest for life, and a gift of friendship for everyone.Friends are invited to a visitation at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, 906 S. Gregg Street, Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
