Carl Robert Currie, 31, of Austin formerly of Big Spring, died on Thursday, June 26, 2008, in Corpus Christi from injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood, Big Spring with Chaplain Rick Foster, of the Big Spring State Hospital, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.He was born on September 30, 1976, in Mesa, Arizona and married Shawna Lea Boynt on August 13, 1995 in San Marcos, Texas.Carl grew up in San Antonio. He received his Bachelor degree in History from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Education from Texas Tech University.Survivors include his wife, Shawna Lea Currie of Port Aransas; his daughter, Octavia Star Currie of Port Aransas; his son, Corbin Robert Currie of Port Aransas; his mother, Diane Click Fryar of Manor; his father, Bob Currie of San Antonio; three sisters, Becky Arree Currie of Big Spring and Andrea Grace Currie and Marisa Isebel both of San Antonio; his grandmother, Wilma Marlow of Big Spring; his grandparents, John and Ruth Currie of Big Spring, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
