Carl Bacon, 77, of Coahoma, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Rick Cunningham officiating. Carl was born March 26, 1937 in Mitchell County, Texas and married Annita Thompson June 29, 1991 in Coahoma. He worked for Weaver Services in Snyder for over 20 years and loved cabinetry. He was very proud of his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a Christian. Survivors include his wife Annita Bacon, of Coahoma; one son, Glen Bacon and wife, Kambra of Prosper; four daughters, Tina Essary and husband, Glen of San Antonio, Teresa Combs and husband, Brant Williams of Lubbock, Rhonda Thompson and Angela Hines both of Austin; 11 grandchildren, Klayson Bacon, Kierra Bacon, Heath Gwinn, Heather Gwinn, Dustin Gwinn, Derek Gwinn, Kayla Nichols, Kara Robinson, David Aaron Childers, Ronnie Thompson, Wanda Lewis; 9 great-grandchildren, Jaylee Gwinn, Cole Gwinn, Aubrey Gwinn, Jack Nichols, Jules Nichols, Abbie Robinson, Dawson Robinson, Rhili Childers, and Averi Childers; one sister, Martha Wellman of Dearborn Heights, Michigan;several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mattie (Dorn) Bacon, and one brother, Willie Newton Bacon, Jr. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
