I knew Caren during the 10 years that she and Don lived in Eket. Although I may not have seen her frequently, the times I did were always a joy. She and Don emitted an aura of peace and calm which I know were always appreciated by all the new arrivals. My thoughts go to Don, who has lost his soul-mate but whom I know will take strength from his deep beliefs.
Mike & Helen Lambert left a message on April 8, 2009:
I knew Caren growing up in Kermit, and then reconnected for a little while in the late seventies with her and Don for a short while in Monahans. What I did know then was that she had made Jesus her Lord and Master and she and Don reflected the life of Christ that I had chosen also and still follow. May the God of all comfort, comfort you Don in this hour. Weeping endures for a season, but joy comes in the morning. All who are Christ will rejoin each other in the heavenly realm and Caren is rejoicing with her Savior at this moment.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Don and the Mitchell Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We worshipped together at Bethany Baptist Church in Monahans for a number of years in the 1980's. It was there where we grew to know Caren and Don. They were such a blessing to be with and share the joy of our salvation in Yashua. Don, words can not express our sympathy for your loss. Sincerely and with love.

Caren was such a lovely person. Although we did not meet very often, she always had nice and encouraging words for me whenever we met or spoke on the phone. All of us here in Network Travels were sad when she and Don left Eket, and now we are shocked to learn of her death to this horrible curse of cancer. We pray that the medical geniuses of this world can solve this problem once and for all. Our deepest sympathy from me and all my colleagues in Network Travels. Don, pls take courage, and accept our sympathy. Our thoughts are with you. Sincere condolences.

Caren was a warm and loving friend who welcomed us to the Eket, Nigeria Community. We will always remember her quiet strength and love of serving Christ. Together, she and Don helped many realize that there are no miles of separation in our relationship with Christ and that we were "family" . She will live forever in our hearts and our prayers are with Don and Family for comfort and peace in knowing Caren is in residence with our heavenly Father. Don, we love you and hold you in prayer.

Caren Bizzell will always hold a special place in the heart of my wife Diana and me. Caren and Don prayed us over to Nigeria and we spent 7 years with them and developed a relationship we cherish to this very day. We will miss Caren. But we know she is where she ultimately knew she would go as promised by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Caren and Diana talked, laughed and cried together. Caren was loved and served by her husband Don. To your family and friends Caren,we ask The Lord give them the grace and peace to face the days in your absence. We'll see you some day and join hands at the foot of Jesus. Jim and Diana Kimberlin
Jim and Jennifer Seale left a message on April 7, 2009:
Caren was a gracious, lovely, gentle, and caring friend and neighbor during our years in Eket, Nigeria. She made the best cup of coffee "with cream" as she would unashamedly say. Always had an open door and an open heart. In times of stress she would be quick to point right back to the One with all the answers. And we know that Her Lord and the love and faithfulness of Don were her comfort and source of courage. She was certainly a blessing to us and we are grateful for the gift of her friendship and Don's. We celebrate her transition into the arms of Jesus and will be praying for those of her family and friends and most certainly her soul mate Don in the months ahead as you adjust to the loss of her presence in your life.

I loved teaching with Caren - she was a dedicated teacher and a lovely person. She set a good example for her students. I will not be at the funeral as I am fighting my own battle with cancer, but I will say a prayer for all of her family. Don, Debbie said you were the kind of person that showed you were a christian that you didn't have to say "I am a christian" She liked the years you were her boss. In christian love-
